Quality of Amoretta Argan Oil
Amoretta argan oil is a premium quality oil. The quality of an argan oil is determined by 4 criteria:
- Acidity
- Peroxide value
- Clarity
- Absence of phthalates
Acidity: The acidity level represents the percentage of oleic acid present in 100g of argan oil. The lower the acidity level, the better the quality of the oil. To be classified as extra virgin, for both cosmetic and food use, it must have a value below 3%.
Peroxide value: Provides information about storage and shelf life. For an extra virgin argan oil, this value must be below 15.
Clarity: Indicates the level of filtration and how many impurities have been removed from the oil.
Phthalates: These are chemical substances derived from phthalic acid, used as plasticizers. Argan oil stored for a long time in plastic containers may contain phthalates harmful to health. Amoretta oil is stored directly in stainless steel tanks, protected from sunlight.
Our glass and plastic packaging complies with the standards required by the competent Moroccan authorities and EU health services. For each new production, control analyses are carried out by the responsible organization (EACCE).
